CRITIQUES:
What keeps me hooked to a book is how it has the ability to transport one to an entirely different world. It’s like the pensieve from the Harry Potter universe, it all appears so real… and that is what is a testimonial to the effort of the author.

Lies Look Like Love is a novel about love, friendship, greed, siblings, and many secrets. The entire saga revolves around Ravi: Ravi, a 30-year-old bachelor who is new to a small rainforest town, and Maya, a widow who lives in the town with her siblings. Other characters like Maya’s siblings also play a very important role in this story.
This book takes you on a journey of many emotions. The author’s story kept me hooked until the end. Unpredictable twists and puzzles made the story even more interesting. This is a fascinating and thought-provoking novel that explores mental health issues.

Imagine living in a small, misty forest town, where secrets lurk at every corner, and things are often not what they seem.
I was hooked right from the beginning of the book, and its many plot twists caught me off guard.
The story begins with Maya contemplating her life after the unfortunate death of her beloved husband, Ansh. A stalker in her garden, hooded in mystery, aggravates her anxiety. Burdened with many responsibilities and secrets, she reluctantly allows Ravi, a plant scientist, to rent her outhouse.
Love finally enters her life again as she forges a connection with him, his likeness to Ansh, and his care for her family.
But things are not what they seem, and each one living in the villa has an agenda of their own, a web of lies and deceit to fulfill their own targets.
The characters are written quite realistically, and nature is described beautifully.
Until the last page, you’ll keep guessing what is true and what is false, rereading previous pages to confirm the subtle cues.
One of the best romantic mysteries I’ve read this year, perfect for the season too.
