Finished reading this book last night, and it feels good to read something short yet so beautiful. “Burning Embers” by Irfan Alam is a mesmerizing compendium of poetry that delves deep into the essence of love and its profound mysteries. The collection takes us on a journey of divine and mystical elements, inspiring us to explore the truth of our being.

The book’s content is a delightful blend of themes, ranging from love’s pain and its transformative power to divine epiphanies, spiritual awakenings, friendship, and mystical love. The poems not only express profound emotions but also encourage us to awaken from our illusions and embrace the reality of life.

I was captivated by the well-written verses that effortlessly weave simplicity and elegance. The language is accessible, yet each word and metaphor is carefully chosen, leaving a lasting impact on the reader’s heart. The poems are versatile, yet there’s an underlying connection that ties them together, creating a cohesive and engaging reading experience.

The preface beautifully sets the tone, portraying love as the mother of a new self, bringing forth a compelling exploration of thoughts. The lines from the poems themselves are enchanting, like the silence of love that speaks volumes and the madness of love that leads to a profound connection with the Beloved.

In essence, “Burning Embers” is a book that speaks the language of love, touching the depths of our souls. It’s a treasure trove of emotions and reflections that resonate with the reader. If you seek a heartfelt and meaningful poetry collection, this book won’t disappoint. I highly recommend it to anyone on a quest to explore the wonders of love and its divine mysteries.

Burning Embers is a beautiful collection of 65 poems…some of them are micro while some are 2 pages long.
The theme dwell on different sides of love…the bright one and the dark one…it talks about hope, self awareness.
All these poems are different and unique on their own…the only common thing is that they all are writing quite beautifully.
I like most of them, though if I have to choose a favourite I will choose Roses and Thorns, where there is conservation between the rose and the thorns..thorns are jealous of roses and curse that whoever touch them will feel pain and roses just smile, saying that’s how they survive. I really like this imagination.
If you are into poetry…I will recommend this book to ya! ✨
