Lalli Unveils a Window

Lalli Unveils a Window tells the story of Lalitha (Lalli) Sastri, a fourteen-year-old South-Asian girl whose parents migrated from South India to Tucson, Arizona in the US. The loss of a leg three years before in a car accident leads her to question and critically examine a world that has drastically changed for her.

Her Muslim neighbors, the Ahmeds, help her question her own preconceived notions about Islam. And when nineteen-year-old Sharif Ahmed willingly accompanies a member of the terror organization not realizing that he will be a pawn in ISIS-K’s intention to blackmail his father, Lalli realizes that violence is not integral to a religion but created by a sick craving for absolute power.
